    Duration of ownership: 60 Days

    Strengths: none

    Weaknesses:unreliable, sent refurbished replacement parts

Overall Evaluation: I had problems with this computer within the first month. I spent hours upon hours on the phone with HP and it was finally determined that the hard drive failed. I was sent a replacement drive that I was assured was new, but the customer support rep later admitted it could be refurbished when I asked why there were scratches on it and why I was sent a WD drive to replace a Seagate Barracuda drive. I waited for the new drive, installed it, replaced all my programs, and the same issue happened a week later. I sit on the phone with HP for days this time, multiple calls, before they finally determine that the replacement hard drive had failed also, but that it was due to the motherboard. This time I have to send the entire computer back to HP and wait for two weeks for them to replace the motherdrive. I asked if there were any other options besides being without my computer for two weeks, and I was told that there was not.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Loads of ram and disk space, cool features, everything you need for an office

Weaknesses:tv tuner is hard to set up, not enough usb ports,

Overall Evaluation: This computer is awesome, it supports dual monitors, runs everything lightning fast, and has enough hard drive space to store everything you could ever want. I havent gotten the TV tuner to work yet, which bothers me. I haven't had time to call tech support, and the program that allows you to watch live tv is complicated. I also have an issue with the lack of an internal amplifier for speakers. You must have a set of speakers with their own amplfier to hear anything. Unpowered speakers don't work.

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Fast Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 processor, large 750 GB hard drive, 6 GB DDR2 memory, Fast 64 bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Multimedia Center.

Weaknesses:Keyboard with poor tactile feedback, some commercial and freeware programs written for Vista 32 bit don't run under Vista 64 bit.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this HP Elite multimedia desktop computer to handle all my multimedia needs including storing and fixing digital photos, storing and playing mp3 music files, transferring home digital movies and editing them with Studio 10, and using its built-in HDTV tuner to watch TV on my 24 inch monitor and use its ability to record TV as a DVR and save the programs to the hard drive and/or burn them on a DVD to watch on my home theater system. It also includes a personal media drive bay in which you can place an optional removable hard drive of either 500 GB or 750 GB size to automatically backup your files and store more multimedia files. You can then move the personal media drive to another computer and use the USB connection and external power supply to transfer files. There are plenty of USB ports: 2 in front and 4 in back, 2 firewire ports in back and one in front. There are a microphone and headphone port in front. There are plenty of video and monitor connection options with audio R & L, composite video, and S-video ports in front, all input. In back there are input R & L audio and S-video ports. The video card has three possible connections: VGA, DVI, and HDMI. Also included is a built-in b/g/n wireless connectivity as well as a gigabit Ethernet port. In my month of using this desktop, I have been very pleased with all its features and how well it performs. This is a very good multimedia desktop, with the only minor thing holding it back from excellent being what I personally feel is a poor keyboard with little tactile feedback when hitting the keys.
