Duration of ownership: 2 Years
Strengths: best free firewall out there..easy to use..has installation mode where you can install a program and not have all the pop ups..very good firewall
Weaknesses: takes a little bit of patience to learn..
Overall Evaluation: recommend this firewall to anybody..One of the best free/pay firewalls out there..

Strengths: it is free
Weaknesses: it is intrusive even more than ZoneAlarm. its pop-ups are everywhere not just at the bottom where zonealarm puts them. It can't even tell when you are installing and interrupts installations that do not require internet access; had to stop the firewall to install software.
Overall Evaluation: belongs in the barnyard manure pile

Strengths: Excellent Blocker, One of the Best if not "The" Best Free or Paid but you do need to be patient, if it is a good firewall it is going to be aggravating to begin with but if you are patient it will learn your software and learn the way you surf and eventually it will not be so obtrusive!!!!!! If you are not patient, no software firewall that is any good will work for you.
Weaknesses: Needs to be easier to learn and better at explaining what it does and how it does it.
Overall Evaluation: Excellent!! As good as any firewall on the market. I test a lot of software and I would put it at the top of all the software firewalls available.

Weaknesses: Constant popups ....nevrer ending popups ....absolute nuisance
Overall Evaluation: Got rid of it ......and do not recommend

Strengths: It seem's to be doing what it designed to do?
Weaknesses: To many pop ups
Overall Evaluation: Very complex to understand for a average person and help is hard to find. Going back to Zonealarm

Strengths: Very Strong and Ultra-Protective appears to keep EVERYTHING out!
Weaknesses: TOO Motherly for average user as it requires permission to do anything!!! Very Annoying as virtually everything you want to do on the internet requires it to ask your permission and it helps WAY TOO MUCH and hinders productive work.
Overall Evaluation: Needs to be toned down a bit so that users can actually do something on the net without it ALWAYS interfering.
